Rash on skin - sign of pregnancy?

I have recently developed an itchy rash on my legs (kind of looks like really bad razor burn). It is very odd as I have never developed rashes and as far as I know I am not allergic to anything (had my allergies tested twice). The only thing I can think of is that my husband and I are trying to conceive and I am in the grey period right now (find out this weekend if I am pregnant or not). Has anyone heard of developing new allergies in the (very) early pregnancy? Or getting skin rashes?|||Yes you can develop new allergies while pregnant. Talk to your doctor already. It may or may not be related, but no one here can tell you that.|||I can't say for sure that the rash is due to a pregnancy, but i can definitely say that it may be due to a hormonal irregularity. The best way to know if you're pregnant or not is to take the test. Good luck|||i developed a rash when i was 6 weeks pregnant. so yes it could be. your body will be going through changes.

Good luck! I will also know this weekend if i am pregnant!.|||Sounds more like a side effect of meds for trying to concieve than a sign of pregnancy.

THe earliest sign is a missed period. Until that happens what you might be feeling could jsut be a flu or virus. OTher signs include:

Faint or dizzy

tender or enlarged breasts

increase in normal vaginal discharge

morning or evening sickness.

Dislike of strong tastes/ smells

need to urinate frequently.

very emotional. Due to hormonal changes.

Home test are super accurate. even if the line is very faintly positive. Likey you are. Doctors should always be used to back up a home test.

Skin Rash on skin?

Recently I went to my doctor and showed her some of the problems my skin has had recently. Right above my belly button, I had a small pimple like sore, of course I scratched it now it turned red is slightly raised. Not RINGWORM or HERPES, Doctor said it is just a skin rash. I am not buying it! I have a few on my lower back as well. I will attempt to describe them perfectly. The sore looks like a small crater, with raised edges with a dark red small circle center. They do leave a scar, I had two on my belly about six months ago.

Any ideas.. Doc told me to use some Hydrocortosone Cream, but I feel this is worse..|||Hi Brian

Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood.

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems."

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin."

Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.

Natural Cures

1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot %26amp; spinach, celery %26amp; watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.

2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases.

3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.

4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.

5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.

Best of health to you|||wash and don`t touch

Weird skin rash that waxes and wanes?

For 6 mo, I have had a skin rash that comes and goes. It starts at on the palms, top of hand and wrist. Then I would get all those and then my arms a little bit. Then basically anywhere where I have tender skin (tops of feet, not bottom), across my pants line at my waist, chest, bra area, etc. My PCP is not concerned, just rx's me cream which works when not severe. Lately, I have been getting some hives with the rash, raised type of patches that Benadryl gets rid of. Just seems like rash is just getting worse as time goes on.

I take Zyrtec, Nexium and and just got off Paxil (oh the joys of withdrawal!) and am taking a different antidepressant. I have indoor/outdoor allergies (hence the Zyrtec) but I get the rash despite the Zyrtec! My doc just refills the cream and tells me to try to figure out what I am allergic to... could be food, could be many things. Any ideas? I can go a week w/out a flare up and then have either mild or moderate rash on any of the above mentioned parts.|||It sounds like an allergy. I'd go to a specialist (Allergist) and have some allergy testing done. PCP's aren't always up to date on allergies or testing for them.

I'm guessing that its probably a food that you eat rarely or that you rarely eat much of. If you do eat it often, its something in small doses that your zyrtec takes care of, but when you eat a lot of it your zyrtec can't handle it and you get your rashes.

If you have no insurance and cannot afford allergy testing, I would recommend that you keep a detailed food diary. The rash can be from anything that you've eaten in the last 72 hours prior to the rash starting, though generally it is something you've eaten that day. Keeping a food diary should help you eventually narrow down what is causing the problem.

I do think that its food or ingestion related (your need for Nexium and antidepressants could be due to this as well), as the rash happens on various parts of your body that would not be conclusive with a contact rash.

Wish you all the best.|||I am wondering, exspecially when you say that it is like under your pant line and bra line. If it can be a reaction to laundry soap. The tops of the feet would explain it to because of socks. it is the tops of your hands that is throwing me off. unless you have your hands near the laundry soap.

I found that I could not take any of the allergy meds the insurance company made me take because they all contained loratodine which i was allergic too. The only thing I can take is allegera, and benydrl. They even make a pediatric allegra

Skin rash on my arm, could it be associated with Accutane?

I've started to develop a skin rash on my arm and I read that on the side effects of accutane, that you should discontinue immediately at any signs of a skin rash and contact your doctor. Any opinions?|||I'd say discontinue use immediately and contact your doctor.|||I was on Accutane, never had a rash though. Call your clinic and speak to the nurse or doctor.

Also check to see if you ate anything you might be allergic to, did you change detergents or get a new shirt?|||Discontinue immediately and contact your doctor.

Skin rash at the wrist area?

I got this kind of skin rash around the wrist area for like about 2 months. I don't know what happened, but one day I just realized that this rash was there on my wrist. The rash is shape like a circle, the diameter is like about the size of the thumb's diameter. That area, is like dry, pinkish and it looks like chicken skin with little circles popping up. I don't know what it is, at first I thought it was just only a dry skin area and I put lotion on, but it stayed that way for the past 2 months. And sometime it gets itchy but not really itchy. Can someone tell me what it is?|||Any rash that has existed for 2 months needs to be properly diagnosed. See a dermatologist. One possibility not already mentioned is dermatitis herpetiformis. This is caused by an allergic reaction to gluten/gliadin proteins in grains like wheat. If this is the case, it indicates a serious underlying condition called Celiac Disease. Please see a dermatologist and good luck.|||you could be allergic to your laundry stuff. Sometimes it only irritates parts of your body that rub. Such as your wrist with a long sleve shirt. Also maybe ring worm|||allergic reaction. just to besafe, please go to your doctor or clinic.|||It sounds like you may have the ringworm. It is a fungus type infection that is in the shape of a circle and it looks like how you described it. What you should do is get some anti-fungal cream, and put that on it.Keep applying it until it is gone. The package will have how many times per day to put it on. And if it itches really bad, try that plus some hydrocortisone cream.

Hope I helped!|||It sounds a little like ringworm. ( don't worry, it is not a real worm, it is a fungus like athletes foot) you can try putting something like lotrimin on it, but you probably should go to the doctor as it may need more heavy duty meds.

Do you wear your watch on this wrist? it could be simple dermatitis, and you might want to stop wearing your watch for a little while, and put on lots of cream

or it could be psoriasis, which can clear up with hand cream and cortisone cream. This is the problem with a rash!|||do you wear a watch or bracelet on that wrist? it could be an allergic reaction to the metals of one of those, you could try cortaid cream, but really should see a doctor !

Skin "rash" help, is it disease or sun damage?

my mother has lupus. there is only a 10% chance that i will get lupus and even less likely that it will be chronic. if i do get it then i will only get symptoms.

i'm still a teenager but i have a rash on my face shaped like the malar/"butterfly rash"

it makes my face look pink and when very close up, you can see that it looks like light spider veins.

i don't think it is lupus because it is not raised or itchy.

the problem is, UV rays hit you on the same place where the rash would, so the sun damage and rash would be in the same shape.

i wear a foundation to cover this up daily.

i use proactiv to keep my skin clear and it comes with a toner but it doesn't do anything to help my "sun damage",

but if i'm so young, i'm wondering how i could have sun damage like this already?

is there a way to fix this without going to a dermatologist or getting a procedure done?

what products would you recommend?|||I think it really needs to be checked out professionally. The thing with lupus is that it can manifest in various ways, and your rash may appear different from another's.

You cannot just assume sun damage and self treat, get the rpofessional opinion before you try anything else;

I have no idea what it could be, does this look familiar to anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! All the pics taken are of my chest area, the rash looks to be getting worse|||Try an anti fungal cream, or try washing it a lot. If that don't work make sure you rub it on as many people as you can. Then use sand paper or a razor blade to remove it.|||Weather you hate visiting the Dr or not, I would bring my *** to him anyway. Don't know what you got, but it covers a pretty large area and someone other then us need to see it. anad tell you what it is and what to do about it. Good luck.

Skin Rash!?

I think it is impetigo put i am unsure. Just wondering what else it could be. It is on a 5 year old on the face. Being treated with antibiotics. Also is it contagious after using antibiots and being on it for 3 days?|||consult a dermatologist..

they'll help you..|||Impetigo is a common skin infection. It is most common in children, particularly children in unhealthy living conditions. In adults, it may follow other skin disorders. Impetigo may follow a recent upper respiratory infection such as a cold or other viral infection. It is similar to cellulitis, but is more superficial, involving infection of the top layers of the skin with streptococcus (strep), staphylococcus (staph), or both.

The skin normally has many types of bacteria on it, but intact skin is an effective barrier that keeps bacteria from entering and growing within the body. When there is a break in the skin, bacteria can enter the body and grow there, causing inflammation and infection. Breaks in the skin may occur with insect bites, animal bites, or human bites, or other injury or trauma to the skin. Impetigo may occur on skin where there is no visible break.

Impetigo begins as an itchy, red sore that blisters, oozes and finally becomes covered with a tightly adherent crust. It tends to grow and spread. Impetigo is contagious. The infection is carried in the fluid that oozes from the blisters. Rarely, impetigo may form deeper skin ulcers.|||Impetigo defiantly GET SOME HELP!!

Skin rash???

My husband is having some sort of outbreak on his body. He doesn't go to the gym or play sports and we haven't changed anything like soap or detergent. It started out yesterday, with small clusterlike bumps on the tops of both feet and under one armpit. Today it has spread all over his arms and hands and up his legs. He is very itchy and freaked out. Anybody know what this could be? He has a doctor's appt. today at 1:30, but I'm freaked out because I'm 17 weeks pregnant. I have no symptoms of any of this. Please advise.|||It very well could be an allergic reaction. Lots of times it's hard to pinpoint what it could be to. Could be heat, anything. Also, you can begin being allergic to anything at anytime although you weren't allergic to it before. Don't worry until the doc gives you a reason to be worried.|||Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes.

or it could be an allergy you dont know aboit..something in the air or the sun...

poison ivy maybe...|||allergies actually take some time to build up...it's rare to have an allergic reaction to something the first time around. it sounds a little like prickly heat though. u could try some corn starch on it to soothe it. u didn't mention if ur in hot weather...|||If he has a fever, it could be shingles, which is the chicken pox virus becoming active again in his system. Do the clusters have a pattern, like, do the bumps run in straight lines and do they appear to be filled with fluid?

Shingles rash is very distinct, so if not, then it could be a food allergy, or he may have touched some type of poison plant doing yard work or any number of things. In which case, steroids prescribed by the doctor will help.

If it is shingles, it is good he is seeing the doctor, there is only a 3 day window from the onset of symptoms that you can take the medication for it. You can not catch shingles from him.

Skin Rash??

I have this red painless patch of little raised red bumps on my leg. What could this be? They look like shingles but there is no pain at all. Could somewhere give me any idea of would it is?|||It could be from shaving (razor burn), an allergy or eczema....try some hydrocortezone creme if it doesn't go away on it's own in a day or so and if it spreads at all go and see a doctor.|||Healthy skin care for skin problems is part of overall good health. Now is also looks like I have small light brown dots on the inside of my forearm (which doesn't get exposed to sun?!? Do i have cancer??|||go to a dermatologist.|||May be eczema, see a dermatologist.|||you may die, so see a doctor|||You may have an allergy to something you are coming in contact with. "Contact Dermatitis" which means, "a rash." Often wool products cause small bumbs like that. Do you have a wool blanket, etc. Considing it is your forearms, it tells me it may be something you are touching. However, you should see a determatologist if it doesn't clear up. Can you think of anything new you are wearing or using?|||use ivory soap, they say 99.9% pure and I have used it forever and it keeps my pimples away|||no.. i had the same thing as u.. it may be allergic reaction.. exma.. or a rash.. some cream from the hospital will take that away.. honey you dont have cancer dont worrie jus see the doctor for the cream ~bye :)~|||Go to a dermatologist as soon as possible they can help you find out if it is|||only a dermatologist and a biopsy can determine and diagnose cancer; however, it is not eczema (i have had it for many years and its not as you described, nor psoriasis)

Skin Rash?

It seems like i have a rash on my arms. I've never had any type of rash before nor am I allergic to anything. They are small clusters of goose-bump like dots. They don't itch but they do have a rough feel to them. Anyone know what it could be?|||Common misconception - you can develop allergies at any time to anything. However, it does not sound like you have an allergy.

Try switching to a hypo allergenic soap. Glycerin can dry your skin. Moisturize with a hypo allergic lotion. Drink plenty of fluids.|||atopic dermatitis can be caused by literally thousands of things. Usually though it causes itching. It could be anything from a change in your laundry detergent or bath soap to a different shampoo or something you ate. If you want something to soothe the roughness, you can use some simple glycerin that is readily available at any drugstore. If within 7 days it does not go away or the size of the rash increases then see a dermatologist.
