an allergic reaction to something in the air, or something you ate??

id say you should go to the doctor.. just in case.|||1. Check for spider/bed bugs in your bed.

It's been hot. So spiders do get into a house.

2. Ohh! I also sounds like chicken pox.

3. Maybe it's an allergic reaction from something you ate.

Go to a doctor now and don't touch anyone.|||ok i am pretty sure this isn't the right answer: maybe it's chicken pox. but since it's a skin disease go see a dermatologist ( a skin doctor) trust me dermatologists have probably seen 100's of people with the same problem and so shouldn't start freaking out. see a dermatologist.

oh yeah and i should mention that i had a rash ALL over my body, legs, arms, (not my face) but everywhere because i got hives from something i was allergic too. try going to a doctor that specializes in allergies. see if it was an allergic reaction. hope u get better!

If it IS determined to be a contact dermatitis there are several things you can do:

no perfume/no dye laundry soap

baking soda instead of fabric softener or use a no dye/no perfume softener

ivory soap for body wash (or try a baby wash)

Suave makes a daily clarifying shampoo/conditioner that works for me

Lubiderm sensitive skin lotion to hydrate the skin|||I have the same its called eczema. It is dry skin, and everyones is different. Something probably set it off ( I didn't have an eczema outbreak til I was 19) Usually to calm down the itching you have to go to a Dermatologist and they will give you a topical creme that will make the scratching abrasions go away.

You will also have to do somethings to keep your skin calm : use non soap products i.e. DOVE, Neutrogena, Soft Soap Body Wash, DON'T use Cetaphil or anything like that because it just feels like slime. I use Jergens the original brand, and Dove. You can also rub aloe on your rash because aloe conditions the skin it will feel better.

But after you said that hydrocotizon wasn't working I knew it was eczema cuz I went through the same thing (It's basically overly dry skin) and the outbreak was hell. Just make an appt with a Dermatologist and in the mean time take semi cold showers, lotion 2x daily, and use only gentle soaps. Ivory, Zest, and Coast are some of the harshest and you want to leave them alone. Try Dove, Caress, Tone, Oil Of Olay, or Soft Soap Body wash.

Hope I was helpful :)|||most the time when something like that happens to me... i go to the local pharmacy and show them the rash. they normally will give pretty good suggestions as to what to apply on it to make it go away quicker.

8 week Skin Rash: Been to 2 Doctors and have lost hope! PLEASE Advise!?

I've had a rash on my chin and around my mouth for about 8 weeks now. I have been to my doctor twice and to a dermatologist; both looked at it and told me to put vaseline on it which I have done. The dermatoligist said I have dermatitis and gave me desonide (steroid/cortisone cream) but its not working. My lips are bleeding, my chin is bright red and tender. It doesnt itch or tingle, but it stings badly when I open my mouth wide and when any liquids get into the lesions on my lips. It feels as though I'm sunburned on my chin. I don't know what else to do and I have lost faith in doctors. I'm scared that 2 different doctors can't diagnosis my condition. My chin and mouth look terrible and digusting! I've called in sick for work several times and people keep staring and asking whats wrong with my face, which further stresses and depresses me. I don't know what else to do or where to turn to. Have you had any other symptoms?

With no other symptoms of 'fifth' it may be rosacea like others have said. Check with a doctor if you can.

Karma.

Sorry I cannot spell it.|||fifth disease-my daughter had it-nothing to do for it-last few days and can be accompanied by a headache-very contagious|||Looks like it could be eczema. My son gets eczema, especially in the winter. Be sure to use mild soap and lots of moisturizer.|||Only children get fifth disease.

Yours looks like rosacea.

It's usually treated by a physician with doxycycline. It's a condition that is not harmful but can scar so needs to be treated.|||One can only hope it isn't herpes simplex hsv1. If you've ever had a cold sore, it's a possibility.|||Its rosacea, initially treated with oral antibiotics like doxycycline.Dont worry.its common and benign problem but sometimes recalcitrant.Consult dermatologist.Good luck.|||It looks like Rosecea. Rosacea is a skin disease that causes redness, pimples, and red lines on the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. A rash over the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin often occurs. People sometimes call it "adult acne" because it can cause pimple-like outbreaks. Rosacea can also cause burning and soreness in the eyes and eyelids.

You may control rosacea with medication and by avoiding triggers that lead to flare-ups. Left untreated, rosacea can get worse. Large, disfiguring bumps on the nose and face and serious eye problems are signs of severe rosacea.

Fair-skinned people between the ages of 30 and 60 (and that appears to be you) are most likely to develop rosacea. Women are more likely to have rosacea, but men usually have more severe symptoms.

The symptoms are:

Facial redness/flushing Triggers, such as sun exposure or alcohol, stimulate increased blood flow, which causes blood vessels to expand and facial redness to appear. In women, the redness usually appears on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. The redness may appear in a "butterfly" pattern across the cheeks and nose. Facial redness in men typically appears on the nose, although symptoms can appear on other areas of the face. In some cases, redness may also occur on the neck and upper chest.

Pimples on the face. Small pimples may occur on the red areas of skin or on the edges. These pimples—red, round bumps in the skin—are different than acne pimples, which have blackheads or whiteheads.

Red lines on the face (telangiectasia). These small, thin, red lines, which are tiny blood vessels that look like spiderwebs, usually appear on the cheeks.

Swollen bumps on the nose. In severe cases, mostly in men, the nose appears enlarged, bulbous, and red, a condition called rhinophyma.

Eye irritation. Symptoms include redness, dryness, burning, crusted mucus, tearing, a gritty sensation like that of sand in the eye, pinkeye (conjunctivitis), and swelling in the eyelid. The eyes may not tolerate contact lenses, and styes may develop. In some cases, vision may be blurry, but only in severe cases is vision damaged. About half of the people who have rosacea may have some eye irritation or symptoms.

Some home remedies are:

Skin care. Use soaps, lotions, and cosmetics made for sensitive skin that do not contain alcohol, are not abrasive, and will not clog pores (noncomedogenic). Avoid rubbing or scrubbing your face. Cosmetics with a green-colored base may help mask the redness of a flare-up. Your doctor may be able to refer you to a clinic that specializes in the use of cosmetics for people with rosacea.

Use sunscreen. It is important to protect your face from sun exposure. Every day, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen—one that blocks UVA, UVB, and infrared rays—that is rated SPF 15 or higher. It may be hard to find a sunscreen with the right ingredients that does not sting your face, but it's important to look for the right protection for your skin.

Eye care. Apply warm compresses several times a day, and gently wash your eyelids with a product made for the eyes. Use artificial tears if your eyes feel dry.

Identify triggers. Make a list or keep a diary of potential triggers when you have a flare-up. The National Rosacea Society has developed a rosacea diary checklist that you can use to keep track of the factors in your lifestyle that may be causing symptoms of rosacea. Use the diary every day for several weeks.

Avoid triggers. After you have identified triggers that cause flare-ups, avoiding these triggers will help reduce your symptoms.

Use sunscreen on your face every day. Avoid the midday sun, and wear a wide-brimmed hat.

Minimize stress in your life. Take care of yourself, eat a balanced diet, and exercise regularly.

Stay cool on hot, humid days.

Limit consumption of alcohol, spicy foods, and hot drinks.

Stay as cool as possible when you exercise. Try to exercise for shorter, more frequent intervals, and do low-intensity workouts. In the summer, exercise during the cool morning hours.

Use a moisturizer during the winter to protect your face from dryness caused by cold and wind. Wear a scarf over your cheeks and nose to help protect your skin from the cold and wind.

Avoid excessive hot water, hot tubs, and saunas.

Use skin care products for sensitive skin, and avoid any products that are abrasive or that irritate your skin.

I developed a rash after taking Wellbutrin for about 2 weeks. I begged my doctor to let me keep taking it because it was the only antidepressant to which i responded well, but he said it was potentially dangerous and told me to discontinue it immediately.

Really itchy skin rash...?

I have a really itchy rash. It looks like really bad acne, but it's out of control. It started on my arms (above my elbow), and went to my upper chest, shoulders, and upper back, and is now on my entire back. From everything I've read it sounds kinda like scabies, but my husband doesn't have any symptoms, and neither does my daughter, and I've heard scabies are super contagious. I just finished a round of steroids a couple of weeks ago and an antibiotic about a month ago (both medicines I've taken before)... I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it. I haven't tried any new soaps or laundry detergents. The medicines were for an upper respiratory infection. I have asthma and allergies... once again don't know if that matters. Anyone please tell me what this is! It's driving me nuts, so much so I'm having trouble sleeping. Thanks to everyone with any suggestions!|||It is probably related to your allergies. Sounds like allergic eczema. I had a friend who had it and really severe allergies (when we were little). When she hit puberty it disappeared and the eczema manifested itself as asthma instead (a relief to her, I am sure - it was quite severe).

Go to your allergist or a dermatologist. If you don't have one, have your regular doctor recommend one.

In the meantime, get some Aveeno oatmeal bath to add to a warm (not hot!) bath (the bottle will tell you). Soak in the Aveeno bath every night. Aveeno also has some good lotions - you could also try Zyradril (sp?) (green) lotion on it for relief and taking Benadryl - an antihystamine to also help with the itching. To be sure you are using the best lotion, ask your pharmacist.

Your doctor will probably want to prescribe you some topical steroids for it.

I cited a link that may help you. Good luck and I hope you get some relief!|||There are so many things and without a visual it's really tough to say.

If it's not raised up from the skin it may be (and I know this sounds bad, but it's not as bad as it sounds) a fungus. These tend to really itch, spread, and usually isn't contagious.

Just one possibility.|||Try the source below for a diagnosis of that rash.|||You may have a condition just now being recognized by the CDC called morgellons .. you said "and I could just get some spray for athletes foot and spray all over me... I'm desperate!!!"

That may help if it is in fact morgellons go to morgellons.org and compare symptoms ,,you will need to buy a 30x handheld lighted microscope to look at your skin and only if you see a fiber show your doctor , he may not believe you , but you have a better shot at your doc being compassionate if you show him a fiber

Any idea what this skin rash might be from?

Yesterday I developed a rash on my stomach in the afternoon. It is spread over my entire stomach, and consists of several dozen small, raised red bumps. They are quite small, almost like freckles, but dark pink and raised. I thought they were heat rash so I ignored it, but today the rash has spread up my neck and itches, and I have found other lone red bumps on my legs that are somewhat larger than the bumps on my stomach/neck.

Also, this morning I woke up with cold symptoms - sore throat, 'plugged up' ears, stuffy nose, etc.

You were probably scratching yourself when you didn't know it, while you were sleeping. Eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes which are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema, itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Areas of temporary skin discoloration may appear and are sometimes due to healed lesions, although scarring is rare. Some ways that you can prevent this are by: moisturize frequently, avoiding sudden changes in temperature or humidity, avoid sweating or overheating, reducing stress, avoiding scratchy materials (e.g., wool or other irritants), avoiding harsh soaps, detergents, and solvents, avoiding environmental factors that trigger allergies (e.g., pollens, molds, mites, and animal dander), and being aware of any foods that may cause an outbreak and avoid those foods. Because eczema is usually dry and itchy, you should constantly apply lotions or creams to keep your skin moisturized. It might just be a heat rash. or eczema|||I had someone have the similiar symptons, Any new soaps or detergents? Been playing outside? Sometimes there are weeds that can cause this. Any new foods? Food alergies could cause a reacation. I had this rash and i ruled out all things like pocks and poisen oak and finnally it was weeds i had been pulling in the garden... I would try calomine lotion and try asking a pharmacist for a over the counter topical to apply. I would try retracing what she was doing and who and what she might have come in contact with. Any pets? This could also cause that. When i was a child a cat had a few fleas and this caused a slight rash. It went away after a few days. best of luck . Hope this might help.. i would also go to the web md website. WWW.webdoctor.com

Hope the daughter is feeling better.

Skin Rash that has been worsening over 4 months with treatment?

My Uncle developed a rash on his torso and groin around Haloween of last year. After 5 doctors saw him in his insurance network they have refered him to an outside specialist, he has seen just about everyone but a Medicine Man. It is not any medication he is on, he has had his home fumigated and replaced everything in his bedroom ( the itching becomes unbearable at night), he didnt have a partner in the last year.

Told it was shingles but the RX only lessened the severity before it came back much worse, steroid cream has not helped, we tried numerous natural remedies found on the web.

I am conerned because the rash is contained under his clothing, by looking at him fully dressed the last 6 months have taken a huge toll on his physical appearance and he is retreating into isolation for fear it could be spread to others. Lost alot of weight.

The itching he says feel like a bug moving?|||Has he been tested for lupus? It is less common in men, but I have it and I have terrible rashes. ( hive like ones )

Another idea is that he is allergic to something, so allergy testing would be a good idea.

I am very sorry for your uncle. I nearly went mad with hives that lasted for three months. I seriously wanted to die, I itched so bad and constantly.

He also needs to have a skin biopsy of the area if he hasn't had one already, by a dermatologist. Tell him to hang in there, and if it is lupus....plaquenil is the medication that helped me. It takes a month or two to get into your system....but, it will finally help.

Skin rash on my 6th month old...?

My daughter has patches of rough skin on different areas of her body. Some are red, some are skin toned. They don't seem to bother her, and they go away a few days after i notice them. Her pediatrician said it was ring worm, and gave me a cream for it, but it doesn't do anything. It doesn't make sense to be ring worm. She's had them since she was born. And ring worm doesn't go away on it's own...Some of the spots are about dime sized, and she had one on her elbow the size of a quarter, but it's already gone. They feel rough. Not like sand paper, but more like skin thats healing from a sunburn. Does anyone know what this is? And if there's anything I can do for it?|||Try Aveno lotion...my son had the same thing on his knees when he was that age. It doesn't make sense to me either that it would be ring worm. Try the Aveno for a few days and it should clear up. Also she told me to use dove soap when bathing him because the other stuff seemed to dry him out also. Try both of those and it should go away and if not, then i would take him back to the doc and see if she can refer you to a dermatologist.|||Sounds like eczema to me. I would take her to a dermatologist for a second opinion!|||This is normal, both my sons have those little dry spots as well, mostly on her legs. They are just that dry skin. Just put lotion on them and although that won't make them go away it will make you feel better. Doctor told me there really isn't anything else that you can do for them.

Good luck!|||It sounds like dry skin patches my daughter used to get them also I would leave them be or use a little lotion.|||This sounds exactly like what my daughter had and her ped said it was eczema. I had been putting lotion on it and it wasn't getting any better. The ped said to use 1% Hydrocortizone cream. I used that for maybe 4 days, and the spot was gone.

Good luck!|||Ringworm??

My 19 month old still gets those dime sized patches of rough/dry skin and yes, they do keep switching places. Her pediatrician told me not to get worried and just to rub some intensive moisture cream into them. I like to use vaseline...really softens 'em up!

A friend of mine used hydrocortisone for her baby's rough skin....on the advice of her pediatrician.|||hi

try CORTAID 1% hydrocortisone anti itch cream.

it really help and relieves ITCHING and REDNESS FAST.

you can buy it from walgreens on the shelfs.

i hope it will be working with your newborn baby as my baby.|||If it's hot where you live it could be heat rash. My daughter was born in the month of April and around June she started getting this stuff all over her face. Doctor told me it was heat rash so I quit taking her outside when it was in the 90's and over and it stopped. During the winter it didn't come back and by the next year when the hot summer months came around she was old enough that it didn't bother her anymore. We live in CA in the San Jauquin Valley -- Porterville, to be exact -- and it gets extremely hot in the summer. Try to keep your child inside the house during the summer and it will probably not reappear next year. Apparently it only bothers infants in their first year. Even if we had her in the car with AC she still got it since we had to take her from the house to the car and from the car into wherever we were going.|||If these spots have a raised medium to dark circle and more of a pale colour to the center of the circle then it is ring worm.|||yep its eczema. my son has the same. for the patches on his face i use a bit of hydrocortizone cream as his dribble irritates it. i used curash moisturising lotion on the rest of the patches on his legs and arms and they've actually disappeared at the moment. hope that helps. good luck.

Skin rash... from weed killer??

I found a bumpy rash all over my legs on Monday and thought I might be getting poison ivy. But it hasn't gotten any worse. IT's still here on Wednesday and in thinking back about what could have caused it, I wore shorts on Saturday while spraying RoundUp on several areas of my yard. Could that have caused it? Do I need some kind of medication? Should it go away quickly?|||If you have washed off all the chemical, then time should head the rash.

Skin rash like stuff....?

i have these like spots on my neck and upper chest and they are oval and redish brown there is a big one on my neck i went to the doctor and she told me ethe name of it but i forgot it started with a P or R and i think part of it sounded like Rosa or rose. and she said not to worry because it it lasts 4-12 weeks and its caused by a virus. but what is this rash like stuff called?|||Rosacea

Skin rash on arm when lifting weights?

I'd get a 2nd opinion at her next well exam unless you have ring worm too or know of someone who did it's doubtful (day care??)

Skin rash or blotches on top of feet and lower legs?

i have red blotches or spots on my feet and going up my lowe legs there under the skin they dont itch or burn if i did not look i would not even know they were there it looks like on my lower legs im losing hair my dr said it was just a skin change whatever that means thanks for any help|||Ok, if you have any "swelling" of the feet and legs, it could be "vein" activity...

When your feet or legs swell with water, the skin "stretches" and it tries to make new veins to "feed" it, and keep it alive...

So, when the legs and feet (top) return to "normal", they leave brown or red splotches on them (as the veins shrink too), and when tanned, will look "real dark", almost black!

It doesnt itch, burn or anything, but is not a nice thing to look at.

(This is if your a heart patient or suffer from edema (swelling).

I wish you well...

Skin rash what could it be?

I got a rash on the middle of my stomach on the left side. It occured a few days ago. Now there are what seems to be tiny blisters or pimple like things all on the rash. I have had shingles before but do not remember what it looked like due to the fact I was young when I got them. I did have shingles before for those who think that a child couldn't get them I did trust me I did. Anyways, I haven't been able to get to the doctor due to the holidays right now. It is about and inch long and two inches wide. It itches and stings occasionally. It is only in that spot but dosen't seem to get any better and the only thing it does do is get a few more of those tiny blisters. Does this sound like shingles or has someone else had something similar and can inform me a little of what it could be? I would greatly appreciate it.|||Hi DOnna

Here are some ideas to heal the issue.

Cause

Shingles can be due to chicken pox (in children), pleurisy, Bell`s palsy, herpes simplex, appendicitis, colic, gallstones, colitis, trigeminal neuralgia, or contact dermatitis. All of these conditions must be screened for and, if present, properly treated to provide lasting relief from shingles.

Caution: Shingles eruptions that last longer than two weeks can be a sign of underlying immune problems or cancer (particularly Hodgkin`s disease), and therefore require immediate medical attention. In addition, see an ophthalmologist immediately if herpes zoster occurs near the eyes or on the forehead, as it can cause blindness.

------------------------------...

Natural Cures

Aromatherapy: Massage the essential oils of lemon, geranium, bergamot, eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, or chamomile along the affected area.

Diet: Eat an organic, whole foods diet that emphasizes fresh fruits and vegetables and minimizes carbohydrates (avoiding refined carbohydrates and sugars altogether).

Flower Essences: Crab Apple.

Herbs: Combine equal parts of oat straw, St. John`s wort, and skullcap tinctures and take one teaspoon of this mixture four times a day. Peppermint oil applied topically can also help reduce pain, unless the skin is excessively dry, in which case it is contraindicated.

Homeopathy: Useful homeopathic remedies include Arsen alb., Rhus tox., Sepia, Natrum mur., Hepar sulph., Caladium, and Acidum nit.

Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy is the application of water, ice, steam and hot and cold temperatures to maintain and restore health. Treatments include full body immersion, steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation and the application of hot and/or cold compresses. Hydrotherapy is effective for treating a wide range of conditions and can easily be used in the home as part of a self-care program. Many Naturopathic Physicians, Physical Therapists and Day Spas use Hydrotherapy as part of treatment.

*Purified water is essential for any hydrotherapy treatment. Remedies for Treating Chlorinated Bath Water offers clear instructions and recommendations.

Juice Therapy: Drink carrot and celery juice with one tablespoon of parsley juice once or twice each day.

Nutritional Supplementation: At the first sign of outbreak, apply zinc oxide along the path of the affected nerve area two to three times daily. Other helpful nutrients include L-lysine, vitamin B-complex, vitamin B12, BHT, calcium, and high doses of vitamin C plus bioflavonoids. Topical application of vitamin E can also be helpful. Snake vaccine made from venom has also been known to take away the pain of shingles.

Topical Treatment: Apply apple cider vinegar to the affected area.

Alternative Professional Care

If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating shingles: Acupuncture, Biofeedback Training, Detoxification Therapy, Energy Medicine (Light Beam Generator, Ondamed, TENS), Magnetic Field Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Neural Therapy, Orthomolecular Medicine (Vitamin B12 injections combined with adenosine monophosphate), Oxygen Therapy (Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy, Ozone), and Reflexology.

Best of health to you|||This sounds like shingles or herpes zoster as it is medically known. It can reoccur. This could also be an allergic reation or the small hives. Take 25mg of benedryl every 4 hours and call a doctor.

Skin Rash from I.V.?

I was in the hospital the other day getting a colonstrphy (i know I spelt that wrong) anyways I had an IV in and it has left a bit of a rash on my arm that seems to be getting larger and larger. It doesn't hurt and it is not swollen; it is just an eye sore. I have applied lotion to it also to see if it will help, but I am unsure of it helping yet cause I just now put it on there. The rash has lasted about 4 days so far. Any ideas on what to do about it. It is on my left arm right under the joint (elbow). Not in the elbow just below it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.|||Could be a reaction to the sticking plaster used to hold the IV in place. Go back and see the doctor because 4 days seems quite a long time. An antihistamine cream might be helpful.|||Try a salt rub.|||It's probably from the adhesive on the dressing - go to your chmist and ask for anti histamine or soothing cream|||that space is called the acubital space. you ight have an allergic reaction to the type of tape they used while you were in hospital. i dont suggest that you out lotion on it though. go to the nearest drugstore and look for an anti-tich cream if its itchy. or you can call your doctors office and tell them you have rash on the IV site and you think that it may be a allergic reaction to the type of tape they used on you. Also, that the site is bigger over the days and you are getting a bit worried.|||I would bet a thousand dollars that you are just allergic to the adhesive on the tape used to hold the I.V. in place. Don't put salt rubs on it like someone else has mentioned. Your rash will heal up in a matter of days sometimes longer. Only go back to the doctor if you are running a fever.|||It's probably an allergy to tape. Sometimes you can request hypoallergenic paper tape in the future if that's what it is.

The pharmacy should have 1% hydrocortisone cream that may help.|||Sounds like an allergic reaction. Either from the antiseptic cleanser they use for IV insertion, tape, or plastic dressing applied after insertion. The fact that it is getting larger concerns me. I think I would have the doc look at it anyway. Sometimes IV sites can get infected. Do not put lotion or anything else on it until you see the doc. Those type of things may make the rash worse.Just keep the area clean and dry as much as possible.

Skin rash on inside of leg after unprotected sex......possible STD?

I have noticed a rash has appeared on the inside of my leg quite high up, its bumpy, sore, and seems to be pinky/orange in colour. It covers about 5inchs in diameter. It occured the morning after I had unprotected sex, is this just friction rash, or could it be a symptom of an STD? I dont really know much about STD's so I'm really not sure.|||For starters, the chances of an STD working it's way down your leg is slim. 2nd of all, STDs usually take months to show symptoms, not hours.

I believe it's more than likely a heat rash. Or as you called it, friction rash. I wouldn't fret.|||wow beware|||some people are allergic to their partners sperm|||maybe it's excema|||Personally, I'm no doctor but it sounds more like a rash than an STD. My advice to you would be to have it checked by a doctor. You could apply a cortisone lotion to it for the discomfort. No more unprotected sex, right?|||given that ts on your leg and not your genitalia, it may be an allergy to sperm

I cant tell you enough- if you dont know much about STD for the sake of your health do a little research- it ll go a long way.

STD's are fairly common, know signs and symptoms. I know about STD and its the reason why I refuse to have casual sex- its much too risky|||It sounds like a herpes rash, but definitely go to the doctor.

Skin rash- either slimquick or oil of olay tanning body lotion?

Okay I've been using slimquick for 2 weeks with no problems, then I started using Oil of Olay body lotion- the kind with the gradual self tanner in it- this week. I broke out with a rash all over my body! I stopped using the lotion, and it seems like it is just getting worse. Has anyone had this problem? I am wondering if I should stop using the Slimquick, even though I've been really happy with it other than this rash situation.|||think it will be the olay product, i know quite a lot of people allergic to olay including myself. it will take 2 or 3 days to calm down try savlon cream to cool the rash then when its cleared up try johnsons body lotion with self tanner it works for me. good luck.|||Hi,

I got a rash from slimquick too! I've tried all different diets, and the weight loss is only temporary. I finally tried diet pills on the market are made from Hoodia. I saw this stuff on ABC News. It's all natural and safe, and it works! My wife took it for a month and dropped 20 pounds. I took it for a month and lost about 13 (but I didn't exercise).

I bought the natural hoodia from this website: http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills... . I checked the web site address so I can post it here and I saw they're running a promotion now to get a free 2 week sample for only $4.97! I'm going to order this supply for my wife and give it to her for Christmas =)

Toddler skin rash?

hi. my 19 month old has a rash on legs and arms that looks like pimples. in fact, i believe if they weren't so painful, you could actually "pop" them. He also is having some tests done for this ongoing diarrhea. Anyone have any idea if the two could be connected? Or what the rash could be. The dr. has given us cortizone cream and baby oil but it hasn't helped. Also, he has been on an elimintation diet as well. The rash has been going on for a few months now and seems to get worse, then better, worse, then better again.|||It does sound like a food allergy. Ask your doctor about a gluten allergy. Because so many foods have wheat or gluten in them, it doesn't show as one particular food that they are allergic to.

Good Luck.|||Visit http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org

It is highly likely that you are dealing with food and/or environmental allergies.

With that description i think in atopic dermatitis as a possibility but is hard to know. Look for a dermatologist|||it may be eczema.

go to a dermatologist and they will prescribe the right medication.|||Something similar happened to me about a year ago on my neck. My mom said it was just a sunburn. I tried some aloe vera, but I think whaterver it was, it just healed on it's own. Maybe she has dry skin or something.

Skin rash wont go away, creams doesnt work well?

I have the rash all over my arm, neck, shoulders and back. I use Eurcien or something, and Cortize 10 (sp). the rash doesnt go away, so I use baking powder, the Gold Bond. The rash still doesnt go away, I also switched the soap to Dove. any reasons?|||"Rule #1 - Frustration With Rash

If a rash really bothers you, go see your doctor. Period. It doesn't matter if it's a common skin problem, or other people aren't concerned about it. You're the one who has to live with your skin, so if you want to talk to a doctor, do it.

Even simple or easily treated rashes can cause an immense amount of frustration if you don't know what to do about them.

Imagine not knowing you have athlete's foot. You may be able to tolerate itching and burning skin for a few days or weeks, but you will probably reach the point that it drives you crazy. The solution may be a simple over-the-counter skin cream, but if you don't know that, the cream doesn't do you any good.

Rule #2 - Rash Time

Generally, the longer you've had a rash, the more likely you need to see a doctor if you're concerned about it. Deciding if that mole you've had on your skin for the past twenty years is looking cancerous or not is something you want an expert to do.

Most of the time a rash that has been present for a couple of days will go away on its own. Warning signs that should send you to the doctor sooner rather than later are pain, rapid swelling causing shortness of breath, bleeding blisters in the mouth or eyes, skin that is rapidly turning dusky or black, and large amounts of skin peeling in sheets. As you can see, using rash rule #1 of frustration will get you to the right place.

Rule #3 - Previous Experience With Rash

If you've had the same rash before, it's probably the same diagnosis. This may sound over-simplified, but many people think that because a rash comes back, it wasn't diagnosed correctly. Actually, many rashes aren't necessarily cured, they are controlled. Rashes such as acne, eczema, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, hives, and rosacea can have a waxing and waning course depending on many factors. The best idea is to educate yourself about a rash you've been diagnosed with so you know what to expect in the future. You may be surprised to find out you need to continue some type of treatment to keep it under control.

Rule #4 - Rash Likeness

If you have a rash that looks just like the picture of ringworm, there's a good chance you have ringworm. Of course, like all the other rules, except #1, there are exceptions. Sometimes you can't find a picture or description that exactly matches your skin symptoms. Sometimes you can't decide between two or three choices. Unless you have any of the warning signs from rule #2, narrow your choices down as far as you can. Then, educate yourself about the treatments for each choice. You may find that the treatments are the same. Remember, if in doubt, return to rule #1."|||you might have developed excema. That is what happened to me. I would see a doctor because the only thing that can help excema is a prescription cream.|||go to the doctors =]|||This could be shingles, See a Doctor. Creams won't work.

Hydrocortisone cream for cat's skin rash?? is it toxic??

My cat gets these skin rashes, or "hot spots?" as I've heard them called. I am constantly taking him to the vet for this. The vet will give him a shot and it'll clear up but then 2-3 weeks later my cat will get another spot. We have tried everything to rule out any allergies and my vet said the only thing we can really do is just wait for them to clear up because it's not good to be giving the cat shots all the time. But now the sore is spreading. I have heard that hydrocortisone cream will work to clear it up, but my cat will just lick the cream off. I was wondering if this cream is toxic? If so, I definetely don't want to use it. Any other suggestions? I don't have the money to take my cat to the vet every couple of weeks.|||They have hydrocortisone spray for cats and dogs in the pet section that is safe to spray on pets. I use it on my cats when they get rashes or allergic reactions. I would go see if you can find some in the stores where you live.|||my cat was getting some kinda red rash and the hair was falling out where the rash was it turned out to be ring worm or some kin of fungus type in ring worm in cats on google or some search ands pictures will come up of cats and rashes anyhow i got some lamasil from ride aid the same one you and i would use put some on 2 times a day and it was gone in two weeks has not come back so no i dont think the hydro cream will affect him or lamasil my doctor told me most vets use the same things humans use to treat animals try it if his allergic then stop but it will probably solve it just put a tiny thin layer because they will try to lick or u can get lamisil spray works well|||Hi

It's not toxic to a cat but believe it or not, some cats get steroid induced diabetes so I would look for an alternate.

Could there be food allergies? If so (and even if not) Canned foods w/o gravy are best and if you can go high quality like wellness which doesn't have gluten, that would be better. Some fancy feasts don't have it but don't have my links for which they are. sorry|||Hello..am not sure about the cream, you are right you do have to be careful what you put on cats cuz they to ingest it ( that I would ask the VET about before using )..they can take benadryl..1/2mg per pound up to 2 mgs every 8 hours for allergys %26amp; itching, etc..also pet stores sell brewer yeast tablets, which is also very good for them %26amp; their coats, cats or dogs...as for the sore, it's not unusual for cat sores to stretch %26amp; get big, their skin stretches, as long as the cat or you can keep it broken open for drainage..all will be fine too..the thing with cats %26amp; wounds, is their skin heals over too fast, leaving underneath unhealed, so they often infect, even a few times till they heal..as long as it can be broken by the cat ( as they will do while healing ) all is well, tho it can get a bit gross %26amp; messy..it's just what they have to do to heal properly..Take Care :)|||Use bag balm instead of hydro cortisone. It comes in a green square can. Find it at walmart or a pet store. it is used on horses for similar problems and on minor cuts.it's like the animal version of neosporine. i use it on my dog all the time.|||One of my longhair cats is always getting hot spots, and my vet has prescribed an ointment called Prenine, which clears them up very fast. As I am not sure whether you get the same ointment there, here are the ingredients:Nitronozone, prednisolone, neomycin Sulphate. It is an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory ointment, which is applied once or twice a day. In South Africa, it is only obtainable from a vet, but something similar may be obtained from a pet shop where you are. My vet has in the past, told me that hydro-cortisone is not poisonous to them, but that I should use it very sparingly, and only when I have nothing else to hand. These hot-spots can develop into very nasty, pus filled sores if you are not fast enough in treating them, and then the poor cat needs antibiotics as well.

What should I do, any suggestions?|||My son also has this and i have tried everything. His doctor said it is a form of Ezema, and sometimes it will go away and reappear. The best thing that has worked for my son is using regualr chap-stick...i know it sounds weird, but it really works. Also, applying baby lotion for sensitive skin every 3-4 hours has helped.

You could also try really thick lotion such as Eucerin cream. Rub it on twice a day, especially at night after bath....and immediately put pjs on. You can try a double rinse in the laundry. There is some over-the-counter medication called Cortaid that works really good.

See your doctor right away.|||it could be a virual rash. you can try taking some benedryl, if its an allergic reaction to something. you didnt say where the rash is, but assuming you are saying its not chicken poxs than i think you mean your whole body. best to see a dr.

Any recommendations on rash creams? For skin.?

i am getting skin rashes in my butt area. The pads gets my skin irritated! Help me!|||Diaper rash cremes are the best for that. It will soothe your skin and is gentle enough to not irritate you. Can find them on the baby section of any store.

My dog has what the vet calls a cradle rash - scales and bumps all over his skin?

We were given a special shampoo that is supposed to clear up the skin rash, but it is going slow. He seems miserable. What would you do over and above this?|||well sometimes the only thing is time....my dog just tore a ligament in his knee and he looks miserable, but just time will make it better. someone might have a better answer, but if you decide to use something with it, be sure they are compatable, call and ask your vet before you use anything else with it. just make sure you keep doing what the vet says

good luck, and hope your pup feels better soon|||I've never heard of cradle rash specifically, but dogs with skin problems do sometimes take a while to resolve. I can't think of any "home remedies" that might help... the determining factor in what to do about it is what causes cradle rash. If it is a bacteria or fungal infection, or some sort of mite, only a vet can prescribe the proper treatment. If it is an allergy or an auto-immune disorder, sometimes switching dog foods helps, but don't do this without consulting a vet. If you think what this vet has prescribed is not working at all, see another vet for a second opinion. Ask your current vet to give you a copy of your dog's medical records, or have him fax them to your new vet for you. He is required by law to release these records to another vet if he requests them- it is part of the Freedom of Information Act.

Help! 32 weeks pregnant and getting the shakes with a light skin rash on my arms?

I am 32 weeks pregnant and have been cramping the last few days, and then this morning I got the shakes. I have not been sleeping well lately. There was also a very faint light skin rash on my arms while I was shaking. Did anyone else expierence something like this in pregnancy? What was it?|||A good rule of thumb in pregnancy:

When in doubt, go see your doctor!

Good Luck!|||For the shakes try eating something with peanut butter to help level out your sugar level. I too get the shakes but mine go away after i eat. as for the rash i am not sure you should arrange to see your dr. and go in if it gets any worse. You know just to be on the safe side. You can never be to careful.

What are other causes of canine staph infections due to a skin rash other than allergic reactions?

My daughter's dog (a boxer/collie mix) was diagnosed as having a staph infection. The dog has a rash on her skin but no other symptoms other than scratching. The dog does not have any fleas and is an indoor dog for the most part (goes on walks to take care of business). The vet indicated that if the cause of the staph was not from fleas, something really serious was wrong. We're wondering what else could cause this? The vet prescribed a number of different antibiotics to administer as well as an injection of another type of antibiotic. The dog is approximately 1 year old and appears healthy otherwise. She was also recently spayed.|||Staph is a kind of bacterial infection that's why your vet gave you antibiotics. Antibiotics only work on bacterial infections not allergic reactions.

Your dog just got an infected scratch or wound just like people can get, and it became contaminated with Staph, just like people experience.

Staph is everywhere. It's a very common infection and is generally easily treated if the animal is in good health otherwise.

Just be thankful that you got it treated in time because if you hadn't noticed it for a while and it had a chance to grow it could spread to other parts of her body and could become a worse infection that would be harder to treat and could possible cause some damage.

Thank goodness that you are an attentive owner.

We have a Devon Rex at the shelter I volunteer at with a bad, red skin rash. I can send pics of him. Help pls

He has been to 2 different vets and has had depo shots, antibiotics, special kitty food and even an E collar. He has a skin condition of red bumps on his neck area that will not go away. His previous owners abandoned him and when the animal shelter rescued him from animal control, they shaved him down and found the rash. I can send pictures of "Ra" and his red rash. You can see the rash is in his ears too.

I have also contacted an old friend from school who is a Veterinarian. He suggested it might be Miliary Dermatitis. (I did not have the pictures when I spoke to

him) Ra has no fleas at this time and the staff are a little concerned about putting him on frontline in case it aggravates the condition more. He has been found to have tape worms

Any thoughts of what this may be and how to treat it? Thanks|||ahh well umm

What is the difference between a Lyme disease circular red skin rash and a regular bug bite?

How long after will the circular red skin rash appear? Does it also itch?|||http://www.acponline.org/lyme/patient/di...|||you can find depictions on line, i thought i had it too but it turned out to be some other sort of bug bite, nasty stuff, i suppose it would itch, but just look it up on a search engine.|||Probably not too much since the lyme's disease rash is caused by a bug bite (tick) but in actuallity the rash isn't always present with lyme's disease. Flu like symptoms, fevers at 104'F is initially common.|||You need to Google this question. Look at a picture of the rash. You will know it when you see it.|||Please see the webpages for more details and images on Lyme disease.

I took bactrim for an ear infection and on 11th day developed a skin rash all over. how long does it last?

HELP! My doctor perscribed me Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole) for a whole month %26amp; Cipro drops for a continuing ear infection. I was on the medication for 10 days ( 2 tablets a day for 10 days and the rest 1) and on the 11th day (morning) my lower back (kidney region) started to feel sore. That afternoon I developed small red rashes around my elbows ( i sometimes get hives or have sensitive skin and assumed it would go away) . however throughout the day red spots developed on my legs. The next morning and afternoon some of them grew and there were other red rashes and bumps all over my legs and arms and some on my torso. I went to my doctor that afternoon (12th day) she told me to stop with my medication. She gave me a shot and then perscribed methopredinisolone. The red/pink rashes/bumps are all over the place and some look like popped capillaries. These don't itch. But I was wondering how long does this rash last for? And does it or will it scar my body? Any advice would be great.|||Anytime you are taking a medication, especially an antibiotic, stop taking it and call your doctor AT ONCE if you have hives, a rash, swelling of the face, difficulty breathing or any other allergic symptom. It's probably the Bactrim, but people do become allergic to Cipro, so you should not take either one again unless a doctor desensitizes you. Taking whatever you are allergic to again could produce a much worse reaction, even death. You should wear a medic alert bracelet as well.

An allergic rash should not leave scars unless you get an area of it infected by scratching. You may see some skin peeling like from a bad sunburn from a severe allergic rash, but normally nothing permanent. Signs of the rash can last for many weeks, but eventually they should go away entirely. If anything starts looking worse, be certain to tell your doctor.

Bactrim contains the sulfa drug you mentioned, sulfamethoxazole, and another drug, trimethoprim. If you do not drink enough liquids when taking a sulfa drug, crystals can form which may irritate or damage the kidneys. That could explain the back pain, but ask your doctor about this.

Bactrim allergies are very common. My entire family is allergic to sulfa drugs and one of my children had a life-threatening Stevens-Johnson Syndrome reaction to it after taking it safely for many years.

Just remember that you don't "outgrow" allergies and another reaction is always possible and may be much worse.|||Go to the doctor! You may be having an allergic reaction to the medication. Or who knows?! Just call your doctor ASAP!|||It should not take too long or cause scaring....but this depends on how hard did you scratch? If you scratched in a crazy state of itching and broke open the skin and made the skin bleed and did all sorts of skin damage, then it would be like you skinned your knee and that damage, as you probably remember, took about 2 weeks if you do not pick the scabs too much. Scarring would be caused if this raw tissue becomes infected. So if you have raw tissue, keep it very clean with soap and water, maybe put some bacitracin on it and cover with bandaides or clean dressings that you buy in a drug store. Keep your dirty fingers off it and there should be no scars. If you did not ever break the skin, all should be well in a couple of days. Your can always call your doctor's nurse for advice if you stay worried. Ice causes the skin to itch a lot less. Rub the itch with an ice cube...no more than 15-20 minutes. If you bled under the skin it is a bruise and the colors will go like any other bruise..slowly and changing colors as each part of the blood is reabsorbed....probably not longer that 2 weeks...no scaring.

Do I really need to call the hospital for a skin rash after taking medication?

Some websites say that I should call the doctor immediately if a skin rash appears, but it's Saturday and it seems a bit extreme to go to the emergency ward at hospital with a painless skin rash. Calamine lotion helps very little too. She itches all the time|||Fenistil Gel helps relieve the itching. It happened to me too (again from the pool). Pls help - too many times pottying, skin rash.?

My 3.5 month old baby, seems to be doing too much potty, is it normal? he is exclussively breast milk (expressed) fed, and earlier he used to do lot of potty but only 1-2 times a day, since past 2-3 days he's been doing not too much but atleast 6-7 times! is it ok, but i believe in total ( i know it sounds gross) he must be doing much more than those 2 times.

Also he has red skin rash on the top part of his body, that is his shoulders, chest, upper arms, neck and back. I dont know if it is a heat rash or something.

He is teething so can the above two things be caused bec of it? Also my friend told me not give him water as it will fill his stomach and he wont have enough space for the bmilk. Is it true? Should i give him some water or is the Bmilk enough for him?

Thanks in advance!|||Breastmilk is at 88% water, breastfed babies do not need, and should almost never have water. Giving water can cause water intoxication, and it does take the place of breastmilk so if given repeatedly can cause malnutrition.

In the case of a sick baby breastmilk has the perfect electrolyte balance -unlike water. And unlike pedialyte or other electrolyte replacement fluids it contains antibodies to help make the baby better faster. The only time a breastfed baby needs anything other than breastmilk is if they refuse to breastfeed, and even then every effort should be made to get the baby to take breastmilk from another source such a syringe.

The sudden change if bowel movements *may* indicate diarrhea, however 3 months is about the time of a major growth spurt: more food =more poop.

Heat rash looks like very small pink dots about the size of a pin prick, fairly close together.

If you are concerned go to the doctor. If your baby seems normal -just poopy with a mild rash you can probably wait a few days to see if it gets better.|||There are two camps in the "water or no water" debate.

As foremilk is designed to be thin and thirst quenching, I don't see any reason why water would be necessary. If his wee is dark, feed him more, as it's a sign of dehydration. If his wee is clear like normal, or just a little bit yellow, he's fine.

Irregular pooping habits are quite normal. If it's coming out quite bulky, he might be constipated and you should talk to your doctor about it. It's very rare for a breastfed baby though. If you think he has diarrhoea, you should get him checked out.

If you are worried about the rash, see your doctor. If it's only a heat rash, your nappy cream will clear it up. Make sure you aren't over dressing him. I use paw paw ointment for nappy rash and the heat rash my daughter got.

What kind of allergic rash, Raised skin do you get from allergic reaction to Imodium?

Started taking imodium for chronic diarrhea about two months ago. Skin rash , small red dots appeared on top of both feet shortly after, I also have type 2 diabetes, controlled by diet. Could my diabetic diet cause my chronic diarrhea? Oh................|||it definitely sounds as if you're having an allergic reaction - if Immodium was the most recent new drug you've started, try going off of it to see if the rash resolves. If it does, there are other meds that the doc can prescribe for chronic diarrhea that won't cause an allergic reaction. If going off the immodium doesn't help and there are no other new medications/lotions/creams that you have recently started using, see your doc to rule out other conditions. You don't want to continue to be in contact with whatever could be causing the reaction as allergic reactions actually get worse with more contact (as opposed to better)...which means it could even lead to swelling or breathing problems at some point.|||You need to call your doctor right now. Side effects of Loperamide (Imodium) do include rashes. And it states in the literature that if a rash occurs you need to call your doctor immediately.

Better safe than not.

How do you get rid of a skin rash?.. How can detect what your allergic to?

I have very sensitive skin and I somehow got a rash on my both my arms and neck area from this lotion I used. My arms are very swollen, red, and tender. I can barely bend my arms due to the swelling. I have sracthed so much to the point that they began to bleed. How do you get rid of it and how can you resist scratching?... Im trying to hold out on going to the doctor because they will probably give me something I can purchase at the store. It has been three days now and the swelling, redness, burning, and itch has not gone away. If anyone has any suggestions, please!|||Three days is really too long to live in such misery, you poor thing! Here is a very effective way to take care of your symptoms at home, provided you are not allergic to any of these products.

First, take an antihistamine like Benedryl. It will reduce the itchiness and swelling. Then draw yourself a cool bath and use one or two packets of Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment. It has natural oatmeal which really helps relieve itchy skin. (Hint: dissolve the packets in a few cups of warm water before adding to your bath or you'll end up with lumps of oatmeal!) Soak for at least 20 minutes. Rinse under cool water (the cool water reduces redness and swelling) and pat dry. Finish with Aveeno Skin Relief moisturizing lotion. It also has oat plus dimethicone to soothe itchy skin.

Repeat as needed. If no results are seen within 12 hours, please see a doctor.|||Ooh! I'm so happy I coud save you a trip to the doctor! It's really fun treating yourself this way, and it works, too! Best wishes, Jen. Report It
|||First of all - don't scratch!

You can try asking a pharmacist - they will probably reccommend hydrocortisone cream. It seems to clear up a variety of rashes. It always works for me. You can also try Glaxal Base Cream. Ask your pharmacist if you don't want to see your doctor!|||Skin rash information for many different types of skin rashes is provided below.
